The History of FTS Group

The Fleetwood Sheetmetal Company is part of The Fleetwood Trawler Supply (FTS) Group of Companies established in 1912. The group of companies was set up to service the needs of the fishing industry. Our services were sheet metal work, ships rigging, sail making, chandlery and provisions. The group of companies still offer the same services but since the demise of the local fishing industry our products have had to develop, diversify and move further afield.

Fleetwood Sheetmetal History

Sheet Metal Work has been an integral part of the group since the forming of the company in 1912. Before the 1950s the work was mainly for the fishing industry. When the present owners took a controlling interest they embarked on a diversification programme that saw significant changes in our customers and products. We evolved into one of the North West’s most skilled ductwork, fabrication and kitchen equipment specialists obtaining contracts from many of the area’s most prestigious companies.

The sheet metal work tradesmen employed in the works are fully time served and their reputation for skill, service and craftsmanship has followed our goods throughout the country.
